Gifts in memory or celebration

Gifts in memory

A special way to honour a loved one when they pass away is by donating in their memory. You can make a gift in memory at any time to celebrate the life of a loved one. You may choose to donate on a significant day each year, make a one-off donation or even set up a Tribute page.

If you’re arranging a funeral or memorial service, you may also like to encourage friends and relatives to make a gift to NRAS in memory or instead of flowers. NRAS can help you to manage this process in a way that best suits your needs and situation.

To donate in memory…

  • Online: to make an online in memoriam donation click here (link to paying in funds page or donate landing page)
  • Phone: to donate via phone with a credit card or debit card please call our fundraising team on 01628 823524.
  • Cheque: please make all cheques payable to ‘NRAS’ and sent to NRAS Fundraising team, Beechwood Suite 3, Grove Park Industrial Estate, White Waltham, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 3LW.
  • Donation Envelopes: We can provide our cherry blossom donation envelopes, personalised with the name of the deceased, for the service (which include Gift Aid forms). We can send acknowledgement letters to the donors and the names of donors will also be forwarded to the family of the deceased.

When making any type of in memoriam donation, please let us know the name of the person your gift is in memory of so we can attribute any money raised to their memory.  If you wish NRAS to receive In Memoriam donations when you pass away, it may be helpful to inform your friends and family, executor or include instructions in your Will.

Your ‘in memory’ gift will help NRAS support children living with JIA and their families/carers and is a valuable and positive way to celebrate the life of your loved one.

Gifts in Celebration

If you’re celebrating a birthday, wedding or other special day consider asking your friends and family to donate to NRAS instead of buying a gift for you. You will be making a real difference to all those living with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) in the UK.

You might like to consider setting up an online Fundraising page, giving you the ability to personalise it with your story and photos, telling your family and friends all about your celebration. Alternatively, family and friends could donate directly to NRAS on your behalf – it couldn’t be easier.

If you are planning on ‘tying the knot’ in the near future, would you consider asking your guests to make a donation to NRAS or give NRAS wedding favours to your guests? If JIA has meant something to you and your family then it will mean something to your guests too. It is also a great way of raising awareness of JIA long after the honeymoon is over! We have NRAS lapel badges and JIA-at-NRAS wristbands, whilst also providing you with collection boxes and other literature if required. You can purchase them here. Link to JIA merchandise page

Whatever your occasion, we would like you to help us to support those living with RA and JIA. Contact fundraising@nras.org.uk for more information or call 01628 823524 to speak to a member of our fundraising team.
