NRAS wants to help families of a young person feel empowered and supported when beginning their challenging journey into JIA. This is why we want to set up the brand-new service called New2JIA Right Start. Help us fund our new JIA Right Start service and donate to our appeal. I want to help What is New2JIA Right Start? New2JIA Right Start is a new service which will provide extensive support and vital information to the family of a young person who has recently been diagnosed with JIA. After diagnosis, the young person will be referred to this service by their health professional and the JIA team will: Call the family to relieve them of their anxieties and concerns Arrange a follow-up call to see how families are coping with the recent diagnosis Connect the family with another for peer-to-peer support This service will be a lifeline for so many. New2JIA Right Start would have been my family’s saviour, as I worried about how I was going to manage my daughter’s condition when she was diagnosed, as well as my own.
