Campaigning Help us in our fight for improved care and support for people with JIA and their families. Campaigning for better JIA support Hello! My name is Samuel and I joined the team at JIA at NRAS in December 2019. I have a campaigning background, so I am looking forward to supporting you in campaigning for better support for children and young people with JIA, and their families. I previously worked on projects to support young children’s mental health and I am particularly aware of how important it is for us to make sure we are looking after one another’s emotional and psychological wellbeing, as well as addressing all the physical impacts of JIA. As Policy & Communications Manager I am here to support young people and families in campaigning on JIA-related issues that matter to them and have the potential to change the lives of others with JIA for the better. Paediatric Rheumatology in Cardiff NRAS is delighted to support the new paediatric rheumatology service in Cardiff, which is the first dedicated paediatric rheumatology specialist service for children with JIA in Wales. The unit was established following a campaign started by NRAS all the way back in 2012 – before JIA at NRAS even existed! – and continued by NRAS, Versus Arthritis and the British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) in partnership. We hope to see an increasing number of children living with JIA in Wales offered local paediatric rheumatology care in future.
