Other ways to give

The generous efforts of our fundraisers and supporters help us give those living with JIA, their families, friends, carers and health professionals, the specialist support they need. But you don’t need to run a marathon to be able to support our work. Any funds you raise or gifts you give are hugely appreciated!

There are lots of other different ways you can support NRAS, from shopping online to giving through your salary, recycling and joining our lottery.

Online Shopping

Give As You Live

Give as you Live is a free and easy way to raise money for your favourite charity, just by shopping online. Once you’ve signed up, you can browse our website for the store you want to shop with. Click ‘shop now’ to go to their website, then continue to shop as normal.

Give as you Live also offer ways of raising funds for NRAS just for searching the web or purchasing Gift cards.

eBay

If you sell an item you can use the advanced selling tool to select a charity and donate a percentage of your sale (anything from 10%-100%). When your item sells, this money is securely deposited to us through PayPal, who waive most of their fees so we can receive as much of the money as possible.

Donating a percentage to charity often makes people more likely to bid for your auction items, and to make higher bids too. Everybody wins!

On eBay, you can select NRAS as your favourite charity by logging in and selecting ‘my favourite charity’.

Savoo

If you’re looking to do some online shopping and want to get a great deal, Savoo has thousands of voucher codes and deals that will help you save money & they will donate 50% of their commission to NRAS at the same time!

Do you own a vehicle that you want to sell or get rid of? Then please donate it to us through Giveacar!

They provide a free nationwide service which:

  • Arranges collection of the vehicle from your home
  • Depending on its age and condition, recycles it at an Authorised Treatment Facility or sends it to auction.

Recycle

Ink catridges (via Recycle4Charity)

Recycle your printer cartridges by calling the Fundraising team and requesting a recycling Freepost envelope and NRAS will receive a donation in return! Alternatively, get together with friends, family or colleagues and order a recycling box! Order them direct or find out more from Recycle4Charity.

Recycling for good causes

We can provide self-pack envelopes for:

  • Any jewellery – gold, silver, costume jewellery, watches, broken and damaged items (like odd earrings, snapped chains or items with missing stones).
  • Any unwanted banknotes – old and new, UK and foreign banknotes

Contact us for a self-pack envelope at fundraising@nras.org.uk

If you already have a large amount of items or would like to collect more over a period of time then why not start a Recycling Project! Contact Recycling for Good Causes and they will send you a sack to put your items in and when it is of an acceptable weight (10-30kg), they will then arrange collection at a convenient time for you (free of charge).  In addition to jewellery and currency, you can donate a much wider range of items in Recycling Project sacks including:

  • Mobile Phones
  • Cameras (old film, digital and video)
  • Stamps (Loose, single, albums, first-day covers, presentation packs, collections)
  • Gadgets (Sat-Navs, iPods, MP3 players, games consoles, games & accessories)

Give a car

Giveacar is a non-profit fundraising organisation that raises money for UK charities by scrapping and selling old cars. Any car that is donated will either be sold in a salvage auction for its salvage value or disposed of at an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). Our salvage partner guarantees a return for every car we give them – regardless of condition!

To arrange collection of a car, visit Giveacar.co.uk or call 020 7736 4242, quoting NRAS as your chosen charity.
